He switches from "I want to be hated" to "I want to make a profit". He wanted everyone who saw the article to hate him as much as he hates himself but now that the journalist wants to bring in a TV crew, he wants to make some money off of it.
3. Why do they shift? What causes the shift? (five sentences)
He shifts once he realized that if he was going to be exploited he might as well profit from it. He asked for a certain percentage of the profit, but the journalist rejected his offer. Lloyd then tries to use his kid that he never even met as leverage to convince the journalist to give him more. Once that doesn't work he switches to some more extreme tactics and seizes the journalists hand, pressing it up against he own rotting body. This only drives the journalist away.
4. What does the other character do because of this shift? (three sentences)
The journalist at first remains unmoved by the notion of Lloyd's child. He knows he isn't a good man and probably knows he has been absent from the child's life so his child is an invalid argument. Then, he gets freaked out when Lloyd presses his hand to him and ends up just being scared off.
