Hey Ava! I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something, but it’s been kind of hectic at the boutique, and I’ve also just been dreading this conversation. (pause for response) Well, you haven’t been showing up to work recently, and it’s really frustrating because it is our business. We should be putting in equal effort. I understand you have other things to do, but going into this, you knew it would have to be one of your top priorities. I never wanted the boutique to get in the way of our friendship, but it is. (pause for response) I really don’t think I’m asking for a lot from you. I have dedicated all my savings and time to get the store up and running. All I need from you, is to show me that you equally care about it. (pause for response) What do you mean you don’t want to be a part of it anymore? (pause for response) You watched me sacrifice everything I have, only for you to tell me that you’re giving up? (pause for response) But without you, the boutique won’t be able to stay open. Something we’ve both been dreaming about for so long is just going to get taken away from us, and you don’t even care. We haven’t even been open for a year. Please give it time. I promise you, if the store doesn’t seem to be going anywhere in six months, I’ll bear with your decision to quit. But if you leave now, I can’t promise I’ll be as forgiving.
