Final Reflection Questions.
1. This semester, you worked on two scenes and created a monologue. What surprised you? This could be something you thought would be challenging but found yourself comfortable doing OR it can be something you found challenging but made it through.
Throughout this semester, I thought it was interesting that so much goes into one character.Given circumstances are so important when acting out a character and tactics help the characters expressions shine through. What surprised me most was how enjoyable this class was and even though it was a little bit out of my comfort zone, as the class progressed I began to feel more comfortable. I also found it challenging to pick the proper tactics for my characters; however once I found a good verb it made it much easier to perform my character.
2. What advice would you give to a student who is just starting their work on an acting scene?
The advice that I would give to a student starting their work on a scene would be to take their time, try new things, and pay attention to the characters given circumstances, wants, intentional moments of silence, and tactics. Not every way you perform a character will feel or sound right so it is important to try different things and understand that it is a work in progress. Also, it is important to recognize and dive deep into what your character really wants in order to figure out the appropriate tactics and techniques. Also, moments of silence take the character a step further and really allows the viewer to understand the character. Finally, it is important to recognize that one character can be performed in various different ways.
3. Did you complete your Student Evaluation sent via email from Banner? Please do so.

Monologue: Hi everyone, hope you are all enjoying another day in the life of COVID-19. I don't know if anyone else feels this but it's like masks everywhere, hand Sanitizer everywhere, yet people are nowhere. Like COVID-19 can you just stop ruining peoples lives. It is so frustrating, it is like everything you were excited about and hoped for NEVER HAPPENED. Who would’ve thought that one day we would be locked inside our houses? I am currently home from the University of Florida where my basketball season is on hold, seeing my friends is on hold, and everything fun is essentially on hold. Today is the day I get the call, I get to find out if I will get my season back or if things yet again are just not normal and it is cancelled. This is all out of my control and all the problems right now in the world are out of everyone's control, so we just have to wait and see what happens (Pause). But could you imagine if my coach called and it was not cancelled and we got to play. Things for once may just be a little normal (Pause). I guess it doesn't really matter. Well anyway this virus sure is something everyone has been affected by and has to deal with. A burden on everyone’s shoulders you could say. AH I can not stop thinking about the call. Sorry it is just that basketball is my life, it relieves all my stressors, and makes everything better. But I still am not so sure that this call will be the news I was hoping for. If I do not get to play what will I look forward to? (Phone Ringing)… do i get it? I think I will call them later.
